We are E.H. Crouch Funeral Directors in Stotfold, and we have been at the heart of our community since 1958, when a local man named Ted Crouch wanted to help the families of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Since then, we have been a renowned and beloved part of Stotfold because people know we do everything we can to make a difficult time a little easier for everyone in our care. We are continually striving to set the bar in standards for funeral services and facilities, giving every family careful guidance where it is needed, and most importantly, our uncompromising compassion every step of the way. Please give us a call and we will be here to help and advise you. We can talk 24 hours a day.

From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.
EH Crouch Stotfold delivered an impeccable service from start to finish as our family honoured and celebrated the life of my father Martin James Mathieson.
Fiona and Jo in the office helped my mum prepare the exact service that we all wanted and their team lead by Dean and with the Celebrant Esther delivered a perfect send off that will always bring us comfort.
Jo, Fiona & the E.H Crouch team were faultless in providing my Father, Raymond Barker’s recent Funeral.
